WLS-R Train Load Scanner Overview

The Walz train and railcar volumetric scanner system is the ideal solution for applications that need to accurately measure railcar loads but cannot install a rail scale. The dynamic or in-motion volume measurement systems provide accurate car and full-train payloads without the need to even stop the cars.

The Walz volumetric train scanner system requires very little infrastructure costs when compared to traditional rail scales. Railcars are scanned dynamically, making it unnecessary to stop or uncouple the cars. The load scanner system has been railroad approved and has passed in-field testing with an approved accuracy of ~99% or better.

Carry-back within rail cars is a common issue for both operations that load and receive railcars. The system can be utilized to monitor and alert operations of carry-back within the cars.
